Naamyam Workshop: How to Set Cantonese Text to Music in a Traditional Way【HKIDAF 2023】Kairos Arts Development Company Limited

Naamyam is a kind of traditional song sung in Cantonese. Instead of music notation, naamyam singers are able to sing from the text. In this workshop, participants will learn the musical form and structure of naamyam. Each participant will set a line of naamyam text to music, which will then be performed by the instructors.
