Overview

Where there is sunlight, there must be shadows. Light and shadows weave together the unique scenery of Hong Kong. As time passes, familiar landscapes slowly fade away, and this sense of loss and melancholy makes things more beautiful. We encourage you to explore the city in different ways and perspectives.

Bei Dao's poems carry the stories and memories of the city, while Certain Movements and Shadows responds to the changing eras through dance and light. In this walking tour, stage designer Lee Chi-wai will lead us on a leisure-walk at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, capturing images and sharing the beauty of the scenes.

Certain Movements and Shadows is the finale of CCDC's dance season 'An Ardent °Fall'. Choreographed jointly by the renowned choreographer Helen Lai and dance artist Chou Shu-yi, the piece explores the relationship between poem, body, and the city. The performance will be staged at the Shouson Theatre of Hong Kong Arts Centre from 15 to 23 February 2025.
