Welcome to Tai Kwun Contemporary's Family Day! Through the interaction between "I" and "you," we rediscover the poetry of everyday life through art—just as artist On Kawara transformed the ordinary "today" into a meditation on time, existence, and human connection with simple words and dates on postcards.
This Family Day workshop will be led by local artists MUDWORK, inspired by On Kawara's I Got Up series, where he documented life experiences through postcards, imbuing mundane moments with special meaning through years of systematic creation. Parents and children will collaborate to create "memory postcards" for one another, using words to capture the warm connections in their daily lives. Whether it's a simple phrase or a seemingly insignificant gesture, families will reinterpret these ordinary moments through creativity, crafting unique memories for each other. These repetitive, everyday details are the truest imprints we leave on one another.
