“Two Solos 2.0” is another double-bill solo dance and theatre performance choreographed and performed by Yu Tak Yin and Tsang Wing Fai respectively. After a year, the two artists shared some new insight based on their own artistic and movement researches, constructing another diverse dance evening.
“Floating & Chasing” (浮、追）choreographed and performed by Yu Tak Yin, goes on a journey of exploring and illustrating various movement qualities and dynamics, devising from the distinctive use of energy, as a simple but delicate, decisive but lively bodily representation.
“做緊Lor” & “ Doing囉”* choreographed and performed by Tsang Wing Fai, is a newly created two-parts solo, developed from “432029.1”(Hong Kong Fringe Festival 2025), “ING…做緊呀” (Crude Saturdays, TicTac Arts Centre, Brussels) and “Doing Lor!” (FIRST, WestK, Hong Kong). She further investigates the use of mother language: Cantonese; and universal dancer communicating language: English, in a structural improvisation performance. Driven and motivated from the research in “Doing Lor!”, she notices about the cultural identity, language properties, the playfulness and uniqueness of utilising the language in improvisation, in addition to the premier interest in the language structure. After some consolidations and explorations, this performance would be presented as one solo composed of two solos, demonstrating the differences in the two languages in the same performance.
