THETA △Tsang Wing-Fai
"THETA △" is a new multidisciplinary full length theater creation that represents a continuation of Tsang Wing-Fai's choreography from her 2023 MFA thesis at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, exploring the awareness and introspection regarding life and death.
The work draws upon the profound emotions experienced during the loss of a beloved one, engaging with the perception of being within a "continuum in a multitude of time". Through dynamic bodily movement texture, rhythm, and spatial installations, it reconstructed an reinterpretation of the present moment.
Two years later, Tsang Wing-Fai embarks on a new journey, collaborating with sound designer Step Ip and spatial designer Chen Mo. Together, they delve deeper into the interdependent relationship between body, sound, and space. The performance invites the audience to rediscover and reinterpret their understanding of "presence," examining bodily perception, the virtuality and reality of space, the spatiality of sound, and the reversal of materiality, experiencing the arriving and being in the here and now.
