The Blue Study Live - Volume 2, Chapter 6: CNY Fusion ft. Jaz・ZhengOne World Harmony Limited

A festive programme of music suited for celebrating the Year of the Horse, reimagined through a contemporary jazz lens that is crafted by Justin Siu. Drawing from his wide palette of musical experiences—spanning American jazz, Brazilian bossa nova, and Argentine tango—Justin reshapes traditional melodies with fresh harmonic colours, rhythmic nuance, and improvisational space. The result is a celebratory yet refined sound that honours the spirit of the season while offering listeners a completely new musical perspective.

The evening features guzheng virtuoso, The China National Arts Fund 2026 awardee Grammy Yeung, whose artistry is widely praised for its “clean and solid technique, clear and pure tone, and precise interpretation.” A graduate of the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Grammy has performed extensively across Asia and Europe, including recent solo recitals in London. Her work has been recognised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and she has been selected for the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's Hong Kong Artists and Showcase schemes. She is currently a guest instrumental tutor at The Education University of Hong Kong.

Arranging the music and appearing as bassist, Justin Siu brings his lyrical sensibility and cross-genre insight to the Blue Study stage, shaping a dialogue between guzheng and jazz ensemble that feels both grounded and exploratory. Together, the two artists offer a Chinese New Year programme that is warm, playful, and imaginative—welcoming the new year through tradition, reinvention, and shared musical curiosity.
