Description of the Activity:
Experience the magic of traditional Chinese culture through our immersive exploration of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hong Kong, centered around the Chun Kwan Emperor Festival. This programme offers several unique highlights:
Firstly, students will participate in the Bamboo Theatre Experience, where they will step into the enchanting world of the bamboo theatre and explore its backstage, uncovering the craftsmanship and cultural significance of this unique architectural marvel.
Additionally, they will witness the Cantonese Opera for Appeasing Gods, enjoying captivating performances designed to appease the gods. This experience will provide insights into the history, music, and artistry that make this tradition so special.
The 2-hour programme also includes the visit to the Chun Kwan Temple and the opportunity to observe the festival events, allowing them to delve into the rich festival rituals and traditional social practices.
