Jamela Law

Jamela Law (she/ her) is a computational fashion artist based in Hong Kong and Singapore, and a co-Founder of Baëlf studio. She holds a BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles degree accredited by Goldsmiths 'College, University of London. Jamela received a scholarship and completed a Master of Science in Computational and Advanced Design under University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Bulgaria in 2024.

Jamela's artistic works revolve around themes of culture, social justice and environment. She hopes to encourage diversity and connectivity and cultivate empathy and emotional resilience in her adopted communities. Her reflective phygital outputs are often executed with state-of-the-art technology and experimental processes. Her works are acquired by the Singapore National Heritage Board.

Jamela won the 5th Singapore Fashion Awards from Nüyou for her Innovative Material use and was a featured finalist in the Graduate Programme organised by the Council of Fashion Designers in America (CFDA+) and the WSGN + Arts Thread Future Creator Award Hong Kong in 2017. In 2023, Jamela was awarded the prestigious Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize, exhibiting in Hong Kong, Singapore and Jakarta. In 2024, she was Community Artist-in-Residence at SCAPE, presenting works co-created with underrepresented individuals during Singapore Art Week.
