In Tagalog, 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘺 designates a companion in both sorrow and joy.
Marking the 45th Anniversary of the Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW), the fundraiser exhibition brings together 40+ artists to sustain MFMW's ongoing advocacy and sanctuary work with migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong.
Rooted in a shared remembrance of the Tai Po fire and decades of everyday accompaniment, the exhibition honors the migrant workers who sustain Hong Kong's households and communities. We breathe together, eat together, live together, cry together, and laugh together. In times of rupture and uncertainty, companionship is a commitment to remain present, to hold space, and to care.
Featuring 50+ artworks including graphic and print make works by Filipino and Hong Kong artist friends. Printmaking is uniquely grounded in collectivity and social caring. Built through shared tools, processes, and hands, the process of print carries messages across distances, and gathers people into common purpose despite different races, languages, and cultures.
